This block of ice broke off from a glacier in Greenland; the week before, it was a river torrent.

I trekked about eight hours through this glacial river valley. I thought about camping here the week before, but I would have been killed by this sudden flood which happens when the melting water accumulates underneath the glacier and bursts.
