Steve Giovinco has been an exhibiting artist for thirty years. 

His work has been shown in numerous venues including The Brooklyn Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; White Columns, New York; The California Museum of Photography;  Yale University; Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati; Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia; Sadler’s Wells, London; Addison Gallery of American Art; Gyeongnam Art Museum, South Korea; Gemeentemuseum Den Haag; Australian Centre for Photography; University of the Arts, Philadelphia.

He has received numerous grants and awards including Fulbright Fellow (Alternate) in 2018, winning three Yaddo artist residencies fellowships, twice winning the American-Scandinavian Foundation Travel Grant, being a French Ministry of Culture Resident, and received funding from Puffin Foundation Grant and Artists’ Fellowship. Atlanta Celebrates Photography selected Giovinco as one of ten photographers to watch and Chronicle Books published “Summertime,” a book that included a photograph by him.

Giovinco earned an MFA in photography from Yale University School of Art in 1989. He was raised in New York and Connecticut and currently lives in New York.
